Powerball has jackpotted to a stellar $150 million.
No ticket across the country matched the numbers needed for a Division One prize over the past six weeks, resulting in the game jackpotting.
Lotterywest CEO Colin Smith said next week’s Powerball draw is the third largest prize offered in Australian Lotto history.
“Next Thursday’s $150 million Powerball draw is a wonderful chance for players to join a syndicate with friends, family or work colleagues, which means they can share the cost of a ticket and possibly the joy of a win.”
Currently, Powerball holds the record for WA’s biggest win, which has stood since 2021, when a group of 55 women from a northern suburbs’ gym celebrated an $80 million Powerball prize.
If a single winning ticket from WA takes out next week’s draw, it will easily surpass 2021’s record.
Lotterywest is the only government owned and operated lottery in the country, which means all available profits are returned to the WA community.
Thanks to this six-week jackpot run alone, more than $18 million has been raised by thanks to WA players and local retailers.
This funding means Lotterywest can provide grants to groups such as St Vincent De Paul Society towards crisis and emergency relief, to help people experiencing financial crisis and hardship.
Tickets for next week’s $150 million Powerball jackpot are available in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App until 6pm on Thursday.
