Alcohol and other drug treatment service provider Cyrenian House has received a multimillion-dollar boost towards a new treatment centre in Perth’s north.
A Lotterywest grant of more than $2.9 million will contribute to the fit out and furnishing of the building.
Carol Daws, Chief Executive Officer of Cyrenian House said the new facility, based in Innaloo, will offer a substantial boost in space to better meet community needs.
“Cyrenian House is proud to deliver evidenced, quality services to people affected by alcohol and other drug harms” Ms Daws said.
“This new centre will provide a contemporary and welcoming therapeutic setting where people will be treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
“The project will replace our current Warwick site with a fit for purpose building that will have better capacity to meet the needs of residents in the North Metropolitan Corridor in the years to come. “
The centre, which will be fitted out within an existing building in Innaloo, covers two floors spanning 959 square metres with a reception area, training room, offices, board room, and soundproof counselling andtreatment rooms.
Lotterywest CEO Colin Smith said the $2.9 million commitment aims to give more West Australians living with addiction greater pathways to recovery.
“We are proud to support Cyrenian House with recourses to help reduce the impact of alcohol and other drugs on individuals, their families and our community,” Mr Smith said.
“For close to 35 years Lotterywest has provided funding support to Cyrenian House to deliver professional, ethical and effective alcohol and other drug treatments.”
The new building is expected to be open in early-2025.
For more than 40 years Cyrenian House has delivered a range of professional, ethical and effective alcohol and other drug treatment services across the State, including counselling and support, low medical withdrawal, and residential therapeutic community treatment programs.
