Everything you need to know for Powerball’s $80 million jackpot

Western Australia could see history repeat itself this week, with Powerball’s $80 million jackpot on offer matching the largest lottery prize ever won by a WA Lotto ticket.

WA’s largest Lotto win on record is an $80 million Powerball prize shared by a group of 55 women from a northern suburbs gym who took home the life-changing prize in December 2021.

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said WA players might be celebrating history repeating itself if a WA ticket wins the entire $80 million Powerball jackpot tomorrow night.

“It would be fantastic to see another group of players share a life-changing prize just like the 55 women and their families who have no doubt been making the most of their shared $80 million prize over the past four years,” she said.

“Playing as a group by purchasing a syndicate ticket is a great way to play when jackpots reach these heights and means players can share the cost of a ticket and possibly the joy of a win with family, friends or workmates.

“Syndicates can be arranged in-store and if you don’t have a group to play with, you can join a syndicate that has already been set up.”

Powerball has delivered multiple significant wins for WA players in recent history. In September 2025, the last time Powerball offered an $80 million jackpot, a Peel woman won a $20 million share thanks to her Slikpik 18 ticket. The woman made plans for a simple life with a fruit-tree and chook-filled garden.

Across 2025 Powerball delivered a total of four Division One wins in WA, the most Division One Powerball wins recorded in a single year since 2016.

Since the start of 2026, WA has already celebrated one Division One Powerball win, when a Pilbara grandfather took home a $10 million Powerball prize in January.

Thanks to WA players and retailers, more than $12.5 million has been raised so far for Lotterywest’s grants program from Powerball’s five-week jackpot run.

A Lotterywest grant of more than $3.8 million is supporting the development of the new Crosslinks Community Hub, which will provide a central facility for Western Australians with disabilities to access the services they need.

Tickets for this week’s $80 million Powerball jackpot are available in-store, online or via the Lotterywest App until 6pm on Thursday.
