An unforgettable year of Lotto wins and community support

Lotto players across Western Australia have enjoyed a winning year, with Lotterywest recording the most Division One winners in a calendar year since 2016.

So far in 2025, Lotterywest has celebrated 88 Division One Lotto winners in WA who have shared more than $250 million in Division One prizes.

Community organisations were also big winners this year, with more than $365 million raised for Lotterywest's grants program - equivalent to more than $1 million going back to WA community groups every day of the year.

Powerball had its best year in a decade with four WA players taking home a Division One prize for the first time since 2015.

The highlight coming just last month, when a Mandurah couple won a $50 million Powerball prize, making them the biggest WA Lotto winners since 2022.

WA’s Division One Powerball wins blossomed in spring, with a Peel woman in her 60s winning a $20 million prize in September, and a south of the river man claiming a $25 million Powerball prize in October to go along with November’s result.

trio of friends who took home a $30 million prize in April kicked off WA’s Powerball success this year.

WA players from all over the State have celebrated Division One wins in 2025.

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said the City of Stirling and City of Mandurah finished the year with the most Division One winners for 2025, with the City of Joondalup not far behind.

“Our north of the river players claimed bragging rights over their south of the river neighbours this year, with 27 Division One winners compared to 22,” she said.

“There were plenty of winners across regional WA as well, from as far north as Derby to Albany in the south.

“Players have celebrated Division One wins with everything from indulging with a T-bone steak to fancy haircuts for their dog, as well as holidays, caravan trips and new gaming consoles.”

The WA community have been the real winners in 2025, with all available profits going towards Lotterywest’s grants program which supports diverse community groups across the State.

In 2025, Lotterywest’s grants program supported 395 WA community groups, from an $80,000 grant for Mission Australia’s Christmas Lunch in the Park - an event which has been helping people in need celebrate Christmas for 50 years - to a $10.8 million grant for Screenwest to grow WA’s dynamic screen industry.

WA players have the chance to start the new year in celebration, thanks to Saturday Lotto’s $30 million Megadraw on 3 January. Tickets are available now and until 6pm on the day of the draw in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App.
