Winning weekend for a community of WA Lotto players

It was a winning weekend in Western Australia for Saturday Lotto players.

Three Division One winning tickets came from WA, each worth $772,000, with one of the winning tickets being a syndicate of 10 shares set up by Erskine Lotteries and Newsagency in Mandurah.

Erskine Lotteries and Newsagency owner Jainish “Jay” Soni said it was the store’s first Division One win and he was very happy for the 10 winners from his community.

“It’s a dream come true,” Mr Soni said. "Since we started creating syndicates we have got to know all the regular players.

“They are beautiful people and it is good for them and good for our community to have so many people win.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said syndicates are a great way to share the fun of playing Lotterywest games.

“Anyone can join a syndicate set up by a Lotterywest retailer, or go to a retailer and register their own syndicate,” she said.

“All you need to do is gather a group of at least five players, decide on spend per person and each member of the syndicate will get their own registered ticket.”

The other two Division One winning tickets were sold through Lotterywest Play Online.

Adding to the excitement, 11 WA players are celebrating Division Two Saturday Lotto wins, each pocketing more than $10,000.

Since the start of the year, Saturday Lotto players have contributed more than $50 million through ticket sales to support communities across Western Australia via Lotterywest grants.

Lotterywest players contributed to a $33,000 grant delivered to the Shire of Murray to stage family-friendly events at this weekend’s Pinjarra Festival among other local events.

WA players have a chance to win a $60 million Powerball prize this Thursday. Tickets are available in-store, online or through the Lotterywest App.
