This year, 47 Western Australian players have scratched their way to a Top Prize, thanks to Lotterywest’s range of Scratch’n’Win games.
Players have the option to select from a variety of games ranging from $1 - $20, with sales from these games raising almost $45 million for Lotterywest’s grants program, which supports community groups across the State.
Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said these 47 WA players shared in Top Prizes totalling $4.76 million, thanks to Scratch’n’Win.
“This year we have celebrated Top Prize wins as big as $300,000 from a $20 Word Play to a $1,000 win thanks to a $3 Big Top Bingo game,” he said
“September was the month that created the most Top Prize winners for WA, with six wins enjoyed in the State.
“With Christmas just around the corner, a scratchie gift pack might be the perfect gift for that hard to buy for relative.“
Most WA Top Prize wins came from $5 tickets, with 13 tickets turning into a prize worth between $50,000 and $100,000.
This year $10 Mega Word Play was the game that created the most Top Prize wins, with four players taking home $100,000 prizes.
The $5 Super Word Play games also created three Top Prize wins worth $75,000 each.
A memorable scratchie win for the year was a woman in her 40s who plans to buy a new car and caravan to travel around Australia after claiming a $75,000 Scratch’n’Win Top Prize.
When asked how she discovered her win, she said she was in shock.
“I nearly fell to the ground,” she said.
Christmas scratchie gift packs are available from Lotterywest retailers, with options to include a ticket in Saturday Lotto’s $30 million Megadraw set for 4 January 2025.
