WA community wins thanks to $100 million Powerball jackpot

Western Australia’s community is the winner after tonight’s Powerball jackpot raised more than $17 million for Lotterywest’s grants program.

Powerball’s $100 million jackpot is shared between two tickets, one from Victoria and one from Queensland, now worth $50 million each.

Although there were no Division One wins in Western Australia, the draw produced three Division Two wins across the State, now worth $158,000 each, and almost 400,000 WA players won prizes in Divisions Three to nine.

The three Division Two winning tickets were sold all sold through Lotterywest Play Online.

Lotterywest CEO Colin Smith said thanks to WA’s unique State Government owned and operated lottery, the WA community will benefit from the funds raised from tonight’s draw.

“Thanks to WA players and the retailers selling Lotterywest games, this five-week jackpot run has raised more than $17 million for Lotterywest’s grants program,” Mr Smith said.

“These grants will benefit community projects, events, and initiatives happening all over the State."

Four organisations in the South West region have recently benefitted from $118,000 in Lotterywest support, which will boost community events happening over the summer period.

The next chance for WA players to become multi-millionaires is in next Tuesday’s $40 million OZ Lotto jackpot.

Tonight’s Winning Numbers are 22, 10, 4, 31, 1, 26 and 9 and the Powerball number is 14.
