WA community the winner thanks to $100 million Powerball

Tonight’s $100 million Powerball jackpot has raised more than $20 million for the Western Australian community.

Thanks to WA players and retailers, Lotterywest is able to support community organisations across the State through its grants program.

Lotterywest spokesperson Nikki Wilson-Smith said while one ticket from New South Wales matched the numbers to the $100 million prize, the WA community is still a winner tonight.

“As a State Government-owned and operated lottery, all available profits from ticket sales go into our grants program, which supports communities across WA,” Ms Wilson-Smith said.

“This weekend Lotterywest is supporting Telethon with a grant of $250,000 to help deliver the Telethon Family Festival, a free, inclusive event for Telethon families and the general public.

“We also support smaller community events such as this Sunday’s Bindoon Agricultural Show with a $15,000 grant.

“WA is a better place to live thanks to Lotterywest grants, and this is all down to WA players and the retailers who sell Lotterywest games.”

In tonight’s draw, more than 384,000 WA winners shared $9;6 million in Powerball prizes across other divisions, including one Play Online player who won a Division Two prize worth more than $172,000.

The next chance for WA players to become a multi-millionaire is Tuesday’s OZ Lotto which is currently at $40 million.

Tickets are available until 6pm on draw day in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App.
