Update: WA rallies to make win more sweet than bitter
A heartfelt thank you is being sent out to the people of Western Australia who responded so warmly to the terminally ill man who won $772,000 on Saturday Lotto.
His wife said he has read the comments on every story that has been published about the bittersweet win.
“You’ve made his day,” his wife said.
“He loves reading the comments, people have been so kind, and he’s been crying happy tears.
“We want to send out a great, big thank you for all the good wishes.”
The gentleman is ticking items off his bucket list, including flying business class to visit relatives in the eastern states, flying one of his sons in from overseas business class and sharing his good fortune where he can.
“He’s bought $1000 worth of Woolies gift cards to give to the nursing staff and anyone who helps him along his way,” she said.
