Superdraw win could be even sweeter with your best mate by your side

This weekend’s $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw is the perfect opportunity to share the fun with others, according to Lotterywest.

Lotterywest spokesperson Jennie Fitzhardinge said teaming up with friends could make a life-changing moment even more unforgettable.

“Winning is exciting, but sharing that moment with the people closest to you makes it even more special,” Ms Fitzhardinge said.

“One of the easiest ways to play together is by forming a syndicate. You can split the cost and, if you win, celebrate together.”

Players are encouraged to set up an official syndicate at a Lotterywest retailer to ensure everyone gets their own registered ticket. All you need to do is gather a group of at least five, and syndicate shares start from $5.

Players can also join a syndicate already set up at their local retailer.

For two Mandurah mates, sharing the win made all the difference.

A syndicate, put together by Erskine Lotteries and Newsagency, won Division One in the Saturday Lotto draw on 23 May, with two best friends among the winners.

“Even after checking with my wife, my mate, and then the newsagency the next day, we still couldn’t believe it,” one of the winners said.

“It didn’t really hit us until we went to Lotterywest to collect the prize. When the lift doors closed, we just screamed. We were jumping around — it was unreal.

“Sharing that moment together made it so much more meaningful.”

The friends are already putting their prize to good use, with a holiday on the cards for one, and adopting a rescue dog from the shelter he volunteers at on the horizon for the other.

But not everyone has come forward — one share from the winning syndicate is still unclaimed.

Thanks to Lotterywest players, Lotterywest has supported the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre with a grant of $139,226 towards infrastructure improvements, enhancing community access to cultural and creative spaces and activities.

Tickets for this weekend’s $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw are available in-store, online or via the Lotterywest App until 6pm on Saturday.
