An Albany couple had a sleepless weekend after discovering their Saturday Lotto ticket matched the numbers to a $1 million Division One prize.
The 14-game ticket was one of five Division One prizes sold across the country, with Western Australia’s ticket sold from Hopetoun General Store, on the south coast of WA.
The winner, who arrived at Lotterywest HQ on Monday to claim her prize, said she has been playing the same numbers for the past 15 years.
“I checked the ticket just before I went to bed on Saturday,” she said.
“After checking the numbers, we never got to bed and haven’t slept since.”
The couple plan to take some time to decide what to do with the win but said it will make life easier.
Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said this win marked WA’s 25th Division One win for 2024.
“It’s wonderful to celebrate another WA win and hopefully the joy will continue with a winner in Tuesday’s $40 million OZ Lotto draw,” he said.
“So far this year, WA’s 25 Division One winners have shared more than $65 million in prizes.”
Tickets for OZ Lotto’s $40 million jackpot are available until 6pm on Tuesday in-store, online, or via the Lotterywest App.
