A Western Australian ticket from Paraburdoo matched the winning numbers in Saturday Lotto to score a Division One prize worth $1 million over the weekend.

The win is the first Division One prize of 2026 to land in the Pilbara region.

Paraburdoo Lotteries & News manager Jo Sgambelluri said it was fantastic news for the small community.

"We have a loyal group of regular customers, but we're also a fly-in, fly-out town with lots of workers and travellers passing through," Jo said.

“There’s lots of grey nomads at this time of year, as well as families and younger people exploring Karijini National Park.

“All I know is it’s none of my staff as I haven’t had any resignations!”

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said it was exciting to see another regional WA community celebrate a Division One win.

"It was only last month that a Division One Saturday Lotto prize was claimed in the Wheatbelt town of Wickepin," she said.

“Now another in the Pilbara’s Paraburdoo, highlighting that big wins can happen anywhere, from a metro suburb to one of the State's most remote towns.

"This is WA's 31st Saturday Lotto Division One win of 2026 and the eighth Saturday Lotto Division One win in regional WA.”

In more good news for WA players, a ticket sold by Willetton Newsagency won a Division Two Set for Life prize over the weekend, and the ticketholder will take home $5,000 a month for the next 12 months.

Lotterywest is Australia’s only government-owned and operated lottery where all available profit from every ticket sold is returned to the WA community through Lotterywest’s grants program.

A Lotterywest grant of $64,196 is supporting the Nintirri Centre with a vehicle to improve access to essential health and outreach services for people in regional and remote Pilbara communities.

There are more chances for WA players to win with tomorrow night’s OZ Lotto $4 million, while Thursday’s Powerball has $5 million up for grabs.

Tickets are available in-store, online or through the Lotterywest app until 6pm on draw-day.
