Regional WA's mystery millions: Three major lottery prizes still unclaimed

Three unclaimed tickets sold in regional Western Australia have won millionaire-making prizes in Lotterywest draws this week, with the winners yet to come forward.

Two Division One-winning tickets in Saturday Lotto's $20 million Superdraw were sold in West Busselton and Eaton, with each winner taking home $2.2 million.

Adding to the run of regional wins, a ticket sold in Albany won $1 million in Monday's Millionaire Medley.

Lotterywest players who bought tickets from West Busselton News and Post, Eaton Fair Lottery Centre and News and Clarke's Newsagency in Albany are encouraged to check their numbers.

David Rodgers has owned and operated Eaton Fair Lottery Centre and News for 38 years and said it's an exciting day for staff when they know they've sold a winning ticket.

"It's a great day for everyone working at the newsagency," he said.

"They put a lot of effort into making sure ticket sales run smoothly and to think someone out there has won more than $2 million dollars, well that's life changing.

"It's a great feeling to sell a winner, but to know that Saturday Lotto draw raised $3.6 million for the community is really something to feel proud of."

Lotterywest spokesperson Nikki Wilson-Smith said it was an exciting week for regional Western Australia.

"We don't see this very often. The last time three Division One winning tickets were sold at regional outlets in such a short period was a year ago, and we're hoping the winners check their tickets soon," she said.

"These wins show that big prizes can land anywhere in Western Australia, whether it's a major regional centre or a town in the South West."

Lotterywest is Australia’s only government-owned and operated lottery where all available profit from every ticket sold is returned to the WA community through Lotterywest’s grants program.

Busselton Jetty Swim received $20,000 to support free community activities held alongside the event, including beach and water games, roving entertainment, face painting and a community concert. The activities help bring locals and visitors together, fostering community participation, connection and a sense of belonging.

Bunbury Regional Theatre received $230,000 for lighting and general infrastructure upgrades, helping improve the venue for performers and audiences and a new Foodbank branch in Dalyellup received $1.4 million in support to increase food relief services for people experiencing hardship across the region.

Players who purchased tickets in Busselton, Eaton or Albany can check tickets online, via the Lotterywest app or at any Lotterywest retailer.

This weekend's Saturday Lotto $10 million Special Event gives West Aussies a chance to share in a $10 million prize.

Tickets are available in-store, online or through the Lotterywest app until 6pm on draw day.
