Northampton celebrates a new millionaire
A Western Australian player has become the State’s newest millionaire, thanks to a Millionaire Medley ticket sold from Northampton Newsagency matching the numbers to a Division One prize in last night’s draw.
The winning ticket, now worth $1 million, was the only Division One winner across the country in last night’s Millionaire Medley draw.
Northampton Newsagency owner Amanda Fraser said it is the third Division One prize the town has celebrated in the last five years.
“We’re such a small town and it’s so exciting for us to have so many wins,” she said.
“We have no idea who it could be, but it’s always extra special when it’s a local.”
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said this Millionaire Medley win becomes the State’s 76th Division One Lotto prize of the year, with those WA players sharing in more than $219 million in prizes.
“It’s always brilliant to celebrate a Division One win in the regions, and even more exciting off the back of last week’s $50 million Powerball win,” she said.
“WA has celebrated a flurry of Millionaire Medley Division One wins over the last few months.
”The upcoming Black Friday Special Event gives Millionaire Medley players the chance to double their prize across all divisions for three draws - including Division One, with $2 million on offer for up to six winners across three draws.”
Thanks to players across the State, Lotterywest has been supporting the annual Northampton Agricultural Show since 2016 through its grants program. This year’s event, which took place in September, was supported by a Lotterywest grant of $10,000.
WA players can play Millionaire Medley on Friday 28 November, Monday 1 December or Wednesday 3 December for a chance to double their Millionaire Medley prize.
