New facility provides major 'Uplyft' for early childhood services
A new era in community-based early childhood care commenced today with the opening of a state-of-the-art facility designed to support integrated services for children and young people.
The facility, located in Bentley, covers 4,000square metres over two double-storey buildings and will deliver essential services through child and youth services not-for-profit, Uplyft, formerly known as WANSLEA.
Lotterywest grants totalling $4.5 million have supported the fit-out of the new facility, which includes service delivery spaces, public-facing areas, audio-visual equipment, and modern training facilities.
Lotterywest funding has also supported the delivery of a culturally safe yarning circle, which will be a place for the community to connect and share stories.
