Mirrabooka has a new millionaire
Lotto players in the City of Stirling should check their tickets after a ticket purchased in Mirrabooka matched the winning numbers in last night’s Millionaire Medley draw.
WA’s winning ticket, purchased at Mirrabooka Millions, is now worth $1 million.
It marks the third Division One winning ticket sold by the store this year.
In February, a Mirrabooka man kept a winning Saturday Lotto ticket worth $1.25 million tucked safely in his pocket for a week, wanting to keep his life-changing prize within arm’s reach at all times.
Just a month later, a group of Mirrabooka workmates celebrated a $1.2 million Saturday Lotto win after their weekly syndicate matched the numbers to win Division One.
Owner of Mirrabooka Millions, Jay Xu, said the win was so exciting, and a bit overwhelming.
“This is my store’s third Division One win of the year, and we also sold a top prize scratchie in June with a $50,000 prize, so that makes four,” Mr Xu said.
“It’s so great for the staff, it always brings joy into the workplace when we’ve had a win.
“So many customers come in and congratulate us – I’d love to see the prize go to one of our regular customers or a local person.”
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said it had been a fantastic week for WA players.
"Just days after a WA play online ticket claimed the entire $6 million Saturday Lotto jackpot, we're celebrating another Division One winner – this time in Mirrabooka,” she said.
"Selling three Division One winning tickets in just seven months is fantastic for Mirrabooka Millions and a wonderful result for the local community.
"Attention now turns to tonight's $40 million Powerball draw. With a prize pool of that size, we're expecting plenty of players to be dreaming about what a life-changing win could mean for them."
Thanks to players and retailers across the State, Lotterywest delivers hundreds of grants that support WA communities each year.
A Lotterywest grant of $30,000 is supporting the City of Stirling with crisis and emergency relief to address critical needs of women and children fleeing domestic violence in the Perth metropolitan area.
Tickets for tonight’s $40 million Powerball jackpot are available in-store, online, or through the Lotterywest App until 6pm tonight.
