Mandurah millennials claim $50 million Powerball prize

As Western Australians across the State have been dreaming of what they would do with a $50 million Lotto prize, for one Mandurah couple it has become a reality.

The millennial couple’s life changed forever when their Slikpik 18 ticket, purchased through Lotterywest Play Online, took out last week’s entire $50 million Powerball jackpot.

While the Mandurah locals said their day-to-day lives won’t change immediately, more family time is in their plan for the future.

“I’ve always dreamed of being a stay-at-home Dad and I can’t wait to make that a reality,” the winner said.

“Life with a toddler is very busy, so to be able to slow down and spend more quality time together will be very special."

The winner’s wife said she might order a steak the next time they go to the local pub rather than her usual parmy.

Before visiting the Lotterywest Winners Room earlier this week, the winning couple said they couldn’t believe their success.

“We are in total shock, I only play every now and again, this kind of thing doesn’t happen to normal people like us,” the man said.

“We love where we live so we don’t want to move, but we’ll probably get some new gutters and install ceiling fans around the house as well.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said along with delivering $125 million in prize money to WA’s four Division One Powerball winners in 2025, ticket sales have generated more than $92 million for Lotterywest’s grants program this year.

“It’s fantastic to be able to share the joy of our players winning Lotto by giving back to the Western Australian community,” she said.

Lotterywest’s grants program supports community initiatives such as the City of Mandurah's 2025 Christmas in Mandurah event series, which is being supported by a grant of $120,000.

WA players have the chance to become a multi-millionaire in tomorrow night’s $5 million Powerball draw. Tickets are available until 6pm in-store, online or through the Lotterywest App.
