Lotterywest awards contract to deliver new gaming system

Lotterywest is pleased to announce Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation jointly with Brightstar Lottery Australia Corporation (Brightstar) as the successful respondent to implement its new lottery gaming system following a rigorous procurement process.

The contract encompasses the replacement of Lotterywest’s Gaming and Support System contract, inclusive of point-of sale retailer operator terminals and peripheral devices, Lotterywest online sales channel and associated technology, infrastructure and support services.

Lotterywest CEO Colin Smith said the new lottery gaming system was critical to protecting and sustaining Lotterywest’s rich history and the community impact it has delivered for the past 92 years.

“The replacement of our lottery gaming system is part of our ongoing commitment to modernising our operations to support players and retailers, ensuring ongoing returns to the WA community. This investment will provide us with a fit-for-purpose lottery gaming system allowing us to continue to evolve and innovate," he said.

"Continuity of Lotterywest’s lottery gaming system is critical in serving Lotterywest players and supporting Lotterywest’s network of more than 470 retailers and enabling significant returns to the WA community through Lotterywest’s grant program.”

Today’s announcement follows a rigorous procurement process, resulting in the awarding of a contract for the next nine years with options to extend to 19 years.

It is anticipated the new lottery gaming system will be implemented in Q3 2027 with our play online channel implementation following soon after that.
