Hills couple say ‘I do’ to dream wedding after $2.2 million Saturday Lotto win

A Perth Hills family are feeling on top of the world after winning $2.2 million in last weekend’s Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

The couple, both in their late twenties and raising four children under 10, are already planning how the life-changing win will secure their family’s future.

They will pay off their mortgage and finally celebrate the wedding they had been putting on hold.

The mum said becoming a millionaire still didn’t feel real.

“I don’t know when it will sink in, maybe after we’ve seen a financial planner,” she said.

The family plans to use the prize to clear their mortgage, provide new opportunities for their children and enjoy a long-awaited wedding celebration.

“We will pay off the mortgage and now we can send our kids to a private school,” she said.

“We had been putting off our wedding until we got some other things out of the way, but now we can have a big celebration.”

The winner discovered the news while at work.

“I checked the ticket on my break, then I had to go back to work as though nothing had happened!” the woman laughed.

While she will quit her part-time jobs, her partner, who works FIFO, intends to continue working.

“After we’ve paid off the mortgage, got married and taken a trip, we will invest the rest to set us up for the future,” he said.

The couple’s winning ticket was a Slikpik 18 purchased through Lotterywest Play Online.

Tickets for this Saturday’s $10 million Special Event are available in-store, online or through the Lotterywest App until 6pm Saturday.
