From chicken dinners to tattoos: Millionaire Medley memoirs

Western Australia has enjoyed a variety of Millionaire Medley wins over the past few months, with some of those winners revealing intriguing stories in the Lotterywest Winners Room.

WA winners have purchased homes, splurged on fancy desserts and expanded their tattoo collection thanks to their Division One Millionaire Medley success.

Winning Lotto can open the possibilities of all sorts of extraordinary purchases, no matter the size of the prize.

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said there is never a dull moment when it comes to meeting WA winners.

“West Aussies are a lovely bunch, and rather than extravagant items, we often hear stories of winners with more simple plans like new garage doors, treating their pets to fancy haircuts or wholesome family dinners,” she said.

“For the first time, WA players have the chance to double their prize across all divisions in Millionaire Medley’s Black Friday Special Event, kicking off this Friday.

“For three draws only, every prize division will be doubled, including Division One. This means a Division One prize of $2 million is on offer for up to six winners.

”An incredible prize and perfect timing for all the quirky things on offer for Black Friday.”

Lotterywest has looked back at some of the interesting things WA players were planning to spend their Lotto prize on this year.

A north of the river woman planned to celebrate her $1 million Division One Millionaire Medley prize by getting inked with several new tattoos.

“I won’t be getting a tattoo of the Lotterywest logo,” she laughed.

“I have a few different pieces already, so I’d like to add some more.

“Upgrading my gaming system is also something I can have a little bit of fun with.”

Out with the baking paper in with the new blinds

A group of eight Perth friends celebrated a $1 million Lotto prize after playing together as a group for just six months.

While celebrating together in the Lotterywest Winners Room, the group discussed holidays, wedding planning, new cars and renovations.

“Our blinds broke a few months ago and we’ve been blocking out the sun with baking paper,” one of the winners said.

“Baking paper on your windows is surprisingly effective, but we will definitely be getting some new blinds now.”

An engineering student in his late 20s became a millionaire thanks to his Millionaire Medley ticket purchased from Riverton Forum Lottery Kiosk matching the numbers to a Division One prize.

“My heart was beating out of my chest when I realised, I had won,” he said.

“I’ll be paying all my uni fees upfront and I’m taking my girlfriend out for a chicken dinner to celebrate.”

Since Millionaire Medley’s launch in May 2024, more than $19 million has been raised from ticket sales to support WA community groups through Lotterywest’s grants program, all thanks to WA players and retailers.

Millionaire Medley’s Black Friday Special Event gives WA players the chance to double their prize across all divisions for three draws. Play on Friday 28 November, Monday 1 December or Wednesday 3 December for a chance to double your Millionaire Medley prize.

Tickets are available until 6pm on draw day in-store, online or through the Lotterywest App.
