FIFO worker gets a super birthday surprise

A FIFO worker from Mandurah got a super birthday surprise last weekend when he won a Division One prize worth more than $253,000 in Super66.

“I wondered if it could be true,” the man said. “I didn’t sleep that night because I still couldn’t really believe it, so I called Lotterywest on Sunday to make sure it was true.

“The fact that it was my birthday the following week made it even harder to believe.”

The man, in his late 20s, already has plans for his prize.

“I am still young and know if I’m sensible, this can really go a long way. I bought a house a few years ago, so this will make a big difference to my mortgage,” he said.

The winner said there was enough for some fun as well, with a holiday to Japan with his partner firmly on the wish list. He bought 20 games for $20.

“I play Lotterywest games regularly, but I only started playing Super66 a few months ago,” he said.

Lotterywest spokesperson Jennie Fitzhardinge said to win Division One in Super66, you need to get six numbers between 0-9 in the order they're drawn.

“Super66 has five Divisions. The more numbers you match in order, the bigger your prize,” she said.

“Super66 is a jackpotting game, and if Division One is not won the prize will increase in the next draw. It is drawn every Saturday.”

Thanks to WA players and retailers, Lotterywest is able to support WA communities through its grants program.

A Lotterywest grant of more than $700,000 has supported Fremantle Press to transform Fremantle’s historic SEC Substation into a fit‑for‑purpose permanent home, just in time for their 50th birthday open day today on Parry Street in Fremantle.

This Saturday, West Aussies have a chance to share in a $6 million Saturday Lotto prize, and a $66,000 Super66 prize. Tickets are available until 6pm Saturday in-store, online or through the Lotterywest App.
