Family affair for WA’s latest millionaire

A man from WA’s Southwest region is celebrating a $1 million win with his family, after playing his wife’s favourite numbers.

The man in his 50s recently visited Lotterywest HQ to claim the Division One Saturday Lotto prize, which was purchased from Callows Corner Lottery Centre in Busselton.

The winner said he needed help from his son to verify the life-changing ticket.

“I was in complete shock after checking the numbers myself, so I needed another set of eyes to make sure they were all there,” he said.

“I’ve been playing Lotto for more than 30 years, but on this occasion I decided to use my wife’s numbers, which turned out to be a great decision.

“This win is life-changing for our family and it means we will be able to set our children up for the future.”

One of WA's three Division One winning tickets from last Saturday’s draw remains unclaimed, which was purchased from The Lucky Charm in Waikiki.

The owner of the winning ticket purchased from Newburn Newsagency in High Wycombe claimed their $1 million prize earlier this week.

Tickets for tonight’s $50 million Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App.
