Everything you need to know ahead of tonight’s $100 million Powerball draw

For the first time since August, Powerball has soared to a $100 million jackpot, offering Western Australian players a chance at winning a life-changing prize.

WA players planning to enter the draw are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid the crowds, and make sure their ticket is registered to a Lotterywest membership to keep it safe.

The $100 million jackpot comes after there were no Division One winners over the past four-week jackpot run, which has so far raised more than $12.9 million for Lotterywest’s grants program and will benefit communities across the State.

Lotterywest CEO Colin Smith said Powerball holds the record for WA’s biggest win, which has stood since 2021, when a group of 55 women from a northern suburbs’ gym shared an $80 million prize.

“Tonight’s Powerball draw could make West Australian Lotto history,” he said.

“In recent history we’ve seen many of our significant prizes shared with a family or between a group of friends or workmates, which we hope is the case with tonight’s jackpot.”

Up to half of Australia’s adults are expected to have an entry in tonight’s draw, with the busiest period for ticket sales expected on Thursday afternoon between 4pm and 5pm where around 900 tickets will be sold each minute.
