Double delight: Two draws, two WA winners

There was not a cloud in the sky, yet it was raining winners last night, after two WA tickets matched the numbers to win Division One prizes from two separate Lotto games.

Just hours after a WA ticket purchased through Lotterywest Play Online won a $15 million OZ Lotto prize, a Set for Life ticket became WA’s second Set for Life Division One winner for the year.

The winning Set for Life ticket, purchased from newsXpress Centrepoint Midland, was the only Division One winner across the country and the ticketholder will pocket $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

Prakash Patel, owner of newsXpress Centrepoint Midland said it was the first Division One winning ticket his store has sold since he began operating the store in November 2024.

“It’s great news, I’d love to meet the person who has won, maybe they’ll come back into the store over the next few days to check their ticket,” Mr Patel said.

“I shared the news in the staff group chat last night and everybody is so excited, it’s going to be a good day at the shop!”

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said it was incredibly exciting for WA to celebrate two Division One wins, from two different games, in one night.

“It was already a great night for WA players when we saw a $15 million OZ Lotto win in WA, but to top it off with a Set for Life Division One win is absolutely fantastic,” she said.

“What an exciting night, and what a lead into the festive season these players are going to have.”

WA’s last Set for Life Division One win was in February, when a Slikpik 5 from Albany set up a pair of Perth twin brothers for a life of fishing and more time with family.

Thanks to Lotto players and retailers across the State, funds raised from ticket sales support community focussed initiatives in WA through Lotterywest’s grants program.

Indigo Junction Incorporated are benefitting from a Lotterywest grant of $330,500 for crisis and emergency relief, which is supporting people experiencing disadvantage in Midland and surrounding areas.

WA players have the chance to become multi-millionaires in tomorrow night’s $12 million Powerball jackpot.
