The Cook Labor Government is supporting the delivery of 56 new social housing apartments in East Perth that will provide safe, secure and stable housing for Western Australians.
Registered Community Housing Provider St Bart's Housing has received a $15 million capital grant from the Cook Labor Government to deliver an eight-storey development, which will provide 56 one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments.
The project is also supported by a $10.6 million commitment from the Albanese Government through the Housing Australia Future Fund.
The project will be built by Georgiou Group and will be delivered to the Silver Level Livable Housing Australia design standard.
The ground floor of the residential tower will include a lobby, office accommodation, and other functional areas to support residents and the broader community.
The Albanese Government will also contribute a further $30 million for a new 80-bed aged care facility, to provide care for older Western Australians with a history of homelessness.
The Cook Labor Government, through Lotterywest, will also be contributing $4.5 million towards the internal and external communal spaces within the purpose-built residential aged care setting.
