Another win for the South West: Set for Life win hits Dalyellup
A West Aussie is set up for 20 years of wins, thanks to a ticket sold by Dalyellup News and Lotteries matching the numbers to a Division One Set for Life prize last night.
The WA ticket was the only Division One winning ticket across the country in last night’s draw.
The ticketholder becomes WA’s third Set for Life Division One winner of 2026 and will now pocket $20,000 a month for the next 20 years, a total of $4.8 million across two decades.
Owner of Dalyellup News and Lotteries Rikhikumar Patoliya said it was wonderful to sell a Division One winning ticket.
“I was feeling that something is coming. I’ve had the store for 3 years I’ve sold many Division Two winning tickets but always missing that last winning number,” Mr Patoliya said.
“My customers have been telling me a Division One win is coming for my store soon and it's happened, I’m so happy, it’s such a big deal for me.
“I’ll be so happy if it is a local person, my customers and staff are going to be so excited.”
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said the win comes exactly four weeks after a ticket sold from Margaret River Newsagency matched the numbers to a Division One Set for Life win last month.
“The South West seems to be the spot for winning Set for Life tickets in 2026, how fantastic to celebrate another Division One win in the region,” she said.
“A Division One win is so exciting for the local community.
“We cannot wait to meet the winner of this life-changing prize, who has two decades of wins to look forward to.”
Thanks to WA players, Lotterywest, which is the only State Government owned and operated lottery in the country, delivers all available profits back into the community in the form of grants.
A Lotterywest grant of $1.4 million has supported Foodbank WA to fit out their new headquarters in Dalyellup, enabling continuity of services for vulnerable residents across the South West region.
This weekend’s Saturday Lotto Special Event gives WA players the chance to share in a $10 million prize. Tickets are available until 6pm Saturday, in-store, online or through the Lotterywest App.
