Albany twin brothers have defied the odds and are celebrating a second major lottery win after sharing a $1 million Millionaire Medley prize, less than two years after winning Set for Life.

The 65-year-old brothers were already enjoying the benefits of their February 2025 Set for Life prize, which helped them purchase their sister's Albany home.

Now, another life-changing win has them looking forward to paying off the property and hitting the road together.

Adding to the remarkable story, both winning tickets were purchased from Clark's Newsagency in Albany.

The latest win came after a cancelled dentist appointment led one of the brothers to buy a Millionaire Medley ticket.

"When my dentist appointment was cancelled, I decided to go and get a Lotto ticket," he said.

"When I got home, I realised I'd bought a Slikpik and forgotten to get my usual numbers as well."

"I wouldn't usually ever buy more than one ticket a day, but when I realised I'd only bought the Slikpik, I thought I'd pop back because I like playing the same numbers.

"I know it's completely random, but it's what I like to do."

The second trip to the retailer resulted in a System 8 entry that secured the $1 million prize.

The pair say the latest prize will help them enjoy a retirement they've worked hard for.

"We're set now," one brother said.

"We've worked physically demanding jobs our whole lives but now we can relax a bit more, pay the house off and then we both want to get caravans so we can travel around Australia together."

While one brother is dreaming of life on the road, the other has already celebrated in his own way.

"I bought myself a watch because you have to treat yourself a bit," he said.

"I also like disco and dancing, so I might celebrate with my girlfriend."

Lotterywest spokesperson Nikki Wilson-Smith said it was rare to welcome the same players back to the Winners Room for a second major prize.

"Winning a major prize is a memorable moment for any player, but to experience two significant wins within such a short period is remarkable," Ms Wilson-Smith said.

"It's wonderful to see these brothers using their prizes to secure their future and enjoy retirement together."
