A winning weekend as WA celebrates three lottery wins

Three WA lotto players had their multiple reasons to celebrate after scoring millionaire-making prizes over the weekend.

Two WA players won $1 million each in the Friday Millionaire Medley draw, and one WA player scored more than $3.3 million in Saturday Lotto’s $10 million Special Event.

The winning Saturday Lotto ticket was sold by Currambine Lottery Centre.

Owner Premila Devshi said she hoped the winner was one of her many regulars.

“We are only a small retail centre, so we know all our regular customers,” Ms Devshi said.

“All we know is that they won $3,390,781.29 across multiple divisions, so they must have a System ticket.

“Lots of people have already been in to check their tickets today, but the winner is still a mystery!”

System tickets cover multiple combinations of similar numbers, and so winning System entries will usually pay multiple prizes.

Saturday Lotto is played by selecting six numbers. By choosing a System ticket, this allows you to choose fewer or more numbers than are drawn, generating every possible combination for your chosen numbers from a single ticket.

One of the Millionaire Medley winners is no longer a mystery to Caversham Newsagency and Lotteries owner Jon Segui.

“We are so thrilled to have sold a winning ticket to one of our regulars,” Mr Segui said.

“We had a steady stream of locals coming in to congratulate us and check their tickets over the weekend. Then on Sunday, the winner came in and checked their ticket.

“It was wonderful to be able to celebrate with them.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Jennie Fitzhardinge said the second Millionaire Medley winning ticket was sold through Play Online.

“It is a great way to start the week knowing that we will be welcoming three players into the Winners Room,” Ms Fitzhardinge said.

“Lotterywest changes lives every day through our prizes and through our grants program. This Saturday’s $10 million Special Event raised an estimated $2.4 million for the community.”

Millionaire Medley is drawn on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Players can participate in one draw or all three. Tickets are available until 6pm on draw day in store, online or through the Lotterywest App.
