A super weekend for one West Aussie

One Western Australian is celebrating a winning weekend after matching the numbers to a Division One Super66 prize on Saturday night worth $253,000.

WA’s winning ticket, purchased through Lotterywest Play Online, becomes the State’s second Super66 Division One win of the year.

In January a City of Belmont man in his 30s planned a beach holiday with his Super66 Division One win of more than $449,000.

The Belmont man purchased the winning Super66 ticket from The Lucky Charm in Victoria Park and said he only decided to buy the ticket when he noticed the jackpot had climbed.

“I bought a Super66 ticket the week before and didn’t win anything, so I thought I’d give it one more go,” the winner said.

He scanned his ticket in-store and was stunned when the machine displayed a message instructing him to contact Lotterywest.

“I thought the machine was broken until I went back to my car, pulled up the winning numbers online and went through them line by line,” he said.

“When I found the winning line, I just sat there in disbelief.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said Super66 is a simple, jackpotting game drawn every Saturday night with tickets starting from $1 per game.

“A Super66 ticket gives you six randomly selected numbers, and to win Division One you need six winning numbers in the order they are drawn,” she said.

“There are five divisions to win in Super66, and last Saturday alongside WA’s Division One win, WA celebrated three Division Two Super66 prizes of $6,666 from tickets sold in Bibra Lake, Balcatta and Mandurah.”

Thanks to WA players and retailers, all available profit from every Lotto ticket sold supports the WA community through Lotterywest’s grants program.
