Lifeline

Lifeline WA provides a wide range of crisis support, suicide prevention and counselling services and programs to ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.

A Lotterywest grant of $487,031 is supporting Lifeline WA's Eclipse Online project, that will bridge an important gap in the Wheatbelt region, to provide support for individual survivors of suicide beyond postvention support and provide a service for those who attempted suicide in the past and are still struggling with suicidal behaviours.

The purpose of the Eclipse project is to increase participants’ coping skills in relation to suicidal thoughts and to share strategies for survival. It will provide the opportunity for participants to:

• Experience a safe and supportive environment to talk about their suicide attempting with others who have lived through the same experience.

• Reduce internalised/perceived stigma about their suicide attempt(s).

• Increase comfort and ability to speak about their thoughts and feelings which led to the suicide attempt(s).

• Discuss the challenges and successes they face following their suicide attempt.
