Saturday Lotto $2.5 million WA winners revealed
A Beechboro woman, now $1.6 million richer, admits she still haggled with the price of a night’s accommodation to save $50.
The winner discovered their ticket from Beechboro News matched the numbers to a Division One prize from Saturday Lotto’s draw on 20 April.
However, the winner was unable to visit Lotterywest HQ until recently, as they discovered the news while on holiday.
“We pulled into a motel, and they gave us the price for a room for a night, I said stuff that and went down the road where I knew it was cheaper,” she laughed.
“Old habits die hard.”
The winner said she’s played the same Lotto numbers for 25 years and after seeing the numbers on TV immediately asked her daughter to fetch her ticket.
“I’ve been playing the same numbers for years, but when I saw the numbers that were called, I didn’t believe it, I had to check,” she said.
She plans to share the winnings with her children and grandchildren and might treat herself to a new car, dropping a hint to her daughter about heated seats.
