Perth twin brothers have become Western Australia’s first Set for Life Division One winners of the year.
One of the pair, an Albany retiree, purchased the winning Slikpik 5 ticket from Clark’s Newsagency in Albany.
“I don’t usually play Set for Life but for some reason I bought the ticket,” he said.
“I checked the numbers online after the draw and couldn’t believe I had them all.
“I started running around the house, I even bumped into a glass door with all the excitement.
“I eventually had to sit down and take a breath, that’s when I called my twin brother to share the good news.”
After checking the numbers together over the phone, the pair had a sleepless night, with a new world of possibilities whirling through their heads.
“This is absolutely life changing, we’re so happy, it will set us up for life.”
The pair plan to share the money, purchase a home together, and use the monthly income to enjoy more time together doing what they love, fishing.
“We want to spend more time with our families and enjoy a slow pace of life.”
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said so far this year WA has seen 11 Division One wins, with these players sharing in more than $8 million in prizes.
“I’ve never had a set of twins together in the Lotterywest Winner’s Room, this was really special,” she said.
This week, Millionaire Medley’s Cashcade event guarantees Divisions Two to six share an extra $1 million, on top of their usual prize, regardless of the Division One outcome.
Tickets are available until 6pm on draw day in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App.
