New Board members appointed to Lotterywest

Lotterywest is pleased to announce the three-year appointments of Michelle Tremain and June Moorhouse to its Board of Commissioners (Lotterywest Board), starting 1 July 2024.

Ms Tremain is the CEO of a private family group focussed on Western Australian assets, the arts and philanthropy.

She previously served as the Managing Partner of PwC Perth until 2024 and held various national and Asia Pacific leadership roles within the firm during her partnership.

Michelle is highly respected in the business and cultural sectors.

Her strong financial and business acumen will fill the skillset of financial expertise left by retiring Board member Stephen (Steve) Carre.

Ms Moorhouse, an independent arts consultant, has more than 40 years’ experience in the culture, arts, and community services sector.

She has played a key role in shaping the development of community arts and cultural practices through policy, particularly in local governments across Western Australia.

Lotterywest Chair Professor Peter Klinken AC FAHMS FTSE CitWA said Ms Tremain and Ms Moorhouse’s appointments will offer valuable insight and intelligence from various industries.

“It’s fantastic to have two new Board members with such diverse and extensive experience joining the Lotterywest Board,” Professor Klinken said.

“Both Ms Tremain and Ms Moorhouse will provide valuable contributions to Lotterywest’s vision for a hopeful, healthy, connected and sustainable community life for all Western Australians.”

Ms Tremain and Ms Moorhouse will replace Mr Steve Carre OAM and Hon. Jim McGinty AM who are retiring from Lotterywest’s Board after serving since 2013 and 2018 respectively.

Professor Klinken acknowledged Steve Carre and Jim McGinty for their substantial contribution to Lotterywest.

“I’d like to thank Steve and Jim for their expertise and dedicated service to the Lotterywest Board for over 16 years collectively.”

The terms of current Board members Ms Rubini Ventouras and Ms Brianna Peake have both been extended for three years.

Lotterywest continues to operate a responsible and sustainable lottery that delivers enduring benefits for the WA community, with strong and transparent leadership and governance.
