A young tradesman from Bull Creek has come forward to claim a $3 million Division 1 Lotto prize following the weekend’s Superdraw.
Still wearing high-vis and a hardhat, the man said he was on his morning tea break and still wanted to grab a sausage roll before heading back to site.
“I bet that’s a first – Lotto winner buys sausage roll,” he laughed.
“I haven’t caught a wink of sleep so I’ll probably add a coffee to the order too,” he added.
The man, aged in his 30s, said he was likely to use the winnings to pay off his mortgage. He also said his wife was still in complete disbelief.
“No requests from her yet – she still won’t have it that we’ve won,” he said.
“We both went off to work this morning like nothing’s happened,” he added.
The winning Superdraw ticket was sold at Leeming Lottery Centre & Newsagency and marks the State’s 54th Division 1 win for the year.
Store owner Colin Doyle said it was the second Division 1 win his business had experienced in just over 12 months.
“Late last year we sold a Division 1 winning ticket worth almost half a million dollars,” Mr Doyle said.
“With $15 million up for grabs in tomorrow’s OZ Lotto draw let the good times roll,” he added.
Mr Doyle said anyone who missed out on a Superdraw prize would also have the opportunity to double their winnings this Monday and Wednesday.
“We’re offering double the prize money in Divisions 2-6 this week in Monday and Wednesday Lotto,” Mr Doyle said.
Tickets in all draws are available until 6pm on draw day from Lotterywest in-store, via Lotterywest membership online or by downloading the app.
